Apply Here for the KontrolFreek Collegiate eSports Scholarship!

We are proud to announce the KontrolFreek Collegiate eSports Scholarship Program! We’re giving $20,000 in scholarship money to 10 college eSports players for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Since we were founded in 2009, KontrolFreek has been a strong supporter of professional eSports. KontrolFreek is also known for helping gamers of all levels get a leg up over the competition.

We’ve all heard of Heroes of the Dorm and other competitions, and some universities have even started giving out scholarship grants to students to come join their university – but what about the rest of the college gamers?  There are currently thousands of college eSports players in North America, alone, and we wanted to find a way to help them pursue their passion.

So, with that in mind, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for players to apply for and be eligible for the scholarship. KontrolFreek’s Collegiate eSports scholarship is the first of its kind for some simple reasons. We’ll break it down for you:

–       Any Gamer

–       Any Game

It’s just that simple. The KontrolFreek Scholarship is available to any player currently competing on a collegiate level on behalf of their university. League of Legends? Sure! Hearthstone? No problem! Call of Duty? Bring it on.

In order to be considered, applicants need prove that they are members of a collegiate eSports team and plan to continue their education for another year. After that, we’ll take a look at grade point average, extracurricular activities, awards and honors, personal goals and some other stuff.

Applications are now open for the KontrolFreek Collegiate eSports Scholarship, and we’re accepting applications now through May 2, 2016, or until we receive 100 applications, so hurry before applicant space fill up!
