We are excited to introduce you to our third and final KontrolFreek Collegiate eSports Scholarship winner, Eddy Su!

Currently living in Bellevue, WA., Eddy plans to attend the University of Washington in the fall to study Environmental Engineering. After graduation, he hopes to get a job developing solutions for environmental issues such as unsafe drinking water and environmental sustainability.

During his freshman year of high school, Eddy got into competitive eSports through the High School Star League (HSL), and has been competing ever since! Eddy played on a League of Legends HSL team with his friends and saw some major wins, finishing the group stage with 13 wins and only two losses. Not only was competing just an all-around fun experience for Eddy, it bolstered an already strong passion he’d developed for eSports:

“Each time we won a game, it felt so gratifying and in those moments I knew that I loved eSports,” Eddy said.

He’d already caught the eSports bug, and wanted to continue into college at UW. After meeting the solo queue requirement and competing in a series of in-house scrimmage matches, he finally made it onto the starting roster for the LoL team’s jungle position!

Not only does Eddy love to play competitively, but really enjoys playing games like Madden and Halo for fun. Eddy has been gaming for a long time, and loves the challenge that it provides:

“One of my favorite aspects of gaming is theory crafting and the game science behind it,” he said. “Looking at each of the interactions between the champions in League or the cards in Hearthstone creates a puzzle, which is immensely satisfying when you figure something out.”

When he’s not gaming, Eddy enjoys staying active by biking, swimming, running and playing basketball.

Congratulations Eddy and our other winners of the KontrolFreek Collegiate eSports Scholarships! We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Keep gaming!
